The clients wanted to extend their home so it fits with their growing family. Their wish was to keep some of the original house features they enjoy such as the fireplace, the raked ceilings throughout and the beautiful and authentic Jarrah flooring.

We opted to design a layout that would open the space towards the rear and have the kitchen, living and dining areas to seamlessly merge into the alfresco.
The design allows separated wings for each family member - the parental suite’s privacy is enhanced by a courtyard where stands a feature wall made of breeze blocks to create a unique and relaxing private space. The existing Jarrah flooring beautifully contrasts with the polished concrete floor in the new areas.

The challenge was to design our clients what they love but also what they can afford. We acknowledged at the early stage their budget and worked with the builder and stakeholders to deliver an affordable project they will enjoy for the future years to come.
