Home Extension and Second Storey Addition, Attadale

The project was to demolish the lean-to at the back of the house and propose a new living area including facilities such as laundry and WIP. According to the client’s needs, an upper floor seemed to be a necessity to locate a spacious master suite.

The clients were specific on having a lot of storage space and a pilates room - which is designed with it’s own outdoor area/courtyard. Functionality was the main priority throughout this design process, we created multi-use spaces such as little study nooks and inbuilt bench seats.

Details such as architraves, interior finishes, colours, etc. contribute to achieving the Hamptons style that the clients wanted and were thoroughly taken into consideration at the very early stage.

The challenge was to transform a standard face brick single dwelling into a Hampton style two-storey dwelling on a small size block. We worked closely with the builder and came up with technical and functional solutions to both match the Hampton style and stay within the budget given by the client.
